The Salad from 2008

Ok dear ones, here is the recipe for the salad Alice got me hooked on. I literally crave it.

1. Hearts of Romaine lettuce ( I buy the cheap kind that is not chopped and chop it myself. It takes no time and saves you 3 bucks, and when you eat this salad as much as I do, that adds up).

2. Blue or Feta Cheese. I go back and forth. Right now I am into blue, and I buy it from the deli section, uncrumbled, crumble it myself, and save about $2.50. If you go with feta, they only sell it crumbled at my store so it is a tad bit expensive.

3. Avocadoes, sliced. I buy one avocado per two salads. If I am eating alone, I eat the whole dang avocado.

4. Walnuts or pecans, chopped

5. Here is the key….Good Seasons Garlic and Herb Dressing. Now, I make the dressing according to the back of the package, but I only use half of the oil that it calls for and dilute the dressing with water, once I have mixed the oil and vinegar.

Combine the ingredients and toss with the dressing! This salad sounds so simple, but it is so wonderful. I usually chill the salad for at least 15 minutes before eating it.
